For: eligibility and recruitment as a teacher. CTET (central schools — KVS/NVS) by CBSE: ctet.nic.in. State TET (AP TET, TS TET) and DSC (teacher recruitment) by the state education departments.

CTET / TET pattern
PAPER I — for teaching Classes I–V (primary)
PAPER II — for teaching Classes VI–VIII (upper primary)
(attempt both if you want to teach across I–VIII)
Each paper (150 Q, 150 marks, 2.5 hrs):
Child Development & Pedagogy 30 Q
Language I (medium) 30 Q
Language II 30 Q
Paper I: Mathematics 30 + Environmental Studies 30
Paper II: Maths & Science 60 OR Social Studies 60 (by subject)
DSC (District Selection Committee — state teacher recruitment)
- Eligibility usually requires TET-qualified + teacher training (D.El.Ed/B.Ed).
- Written test: General Knowledge & current affairs, Perspectives in Education / pedagogy, and the subject/methodology for the post (SGT/SA/LP/PET).
- Merit often combines TET weightage + DSC written score.

- Child Development & Pedagogy: learning theories, inclusive education, assessment.
- Languages: comprehension + pedagogy of language.
- Mathematics & EVS / Science / Social Studies: content + how to teach it.
- General Knowledge & current affairs (for DSC).
